Jemison House

Named after Mae Jemison, the first black woman to travel into space aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor

Motto: "Never let successes go to your head, and never let failure go to your heart."

House color is Yellow!

 

Jobs House

Named after Steve Jobs, an industrial designer, investor, and media proprietor

Motto: "Failure doesn't mean you never achieve, it just means it will take a little longer."

House color is Orange!

 

Keller House

Named after Helen Keller, first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree, author, and political activist

Motto: "Hold your head high.  Look the world straight in the eye."

House color is Red!

 

King House

Named after Martin Luther King Jr., a Christian minister and activist that became a leader in the civil rights movement

Motto: "The time is always right to do what is right."

House color is Green!

 

Lincoln House

Named after Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States that helped lead our nation through its toughest point in history in the American Civil War

Motto: "When I do good, I feel good.  When I do bad, I feel bad."

House color is Purple!

 

Mendez House

Named after Sylvia Mendez, an American civil rights activist of Mexican-Puerto Rican heritage that played a major role in desegregation

Motto: "You have to believe in yourself when nobody else will."

House color is Dark Blue!

 

Sequoyah House

Named after Sequoyah, a Native American polymath of the Cherokee Nation that helped make reading and writing in Cherokee possible

Motto: "It's not about being the best, it's about being better than you were yesterday."

House color is Light Blue!

 

Washington House

Named after George Washington, 1st American President and military leader that helped found our country and gain our independence

Motto: "Honesty is the best policy."

House color is Black!
