Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are your school counselors, Emily Anderson (full-time) and Kimberly Stewart (Monday, Tuesday, and every other Friday).

We want to let you know what services we will be offering:  individual and group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons.  Individual counseling will consist of a one-on-one session between the student and a counselor that can last for one session or multiple sessions depending on the need of the child.  Small group counseling will revolve around a specific topic such as grief, bullying, or divorce and will last between 5-8 sessions depending on the need of the group.  Classroom guidance lessons will cover a myriad of topics such as responsibility, respect, and conflict resolution that will be determined based on the need and developmental of each grade.

If you have questions about our services or concerns for your student, here is our contact information:

Phone Number:  615-451-6577

We are looking forward to meeting and working with you and your student throughout the school year.

Welcome to Benny Bills Elementary.  Please take a look around at the site and let us know if there is anything you would like us to add.

Benny Bills Elementary also allows for student and parent socialization.  Our annual "Family Fun Night" allows students, families, and our staff to have fun with games, food, inflatables, and socialization.  We also have field days and an annual Walk-a-Thon, in which parents are encouraged to walk with their child.  Our music program and school chorus, the Bills Barkers, for 4th and 5th grade students are outstanding!  Student artwork is displayed at the Volunteer State Community College Art Show each year.  Our end-of-the-year awards programs for all grade levels, with parent invitations, highlight student achievement and successes in all areas.

Here is an update on School Supplies for 20-21 from Del Phillips

SCS Community,

Our school board unanimously adopted our 2020-2021 school district budget last night (5/19.) It will be submitted to our County Commission for approval in June.

To help support our families and students, our school district will purchase all K-8 school supplies in the 2020-2021 school year. We believe that purchasing these items for parents and students will be a financial relief to every Sumner County family as we plan to reopen schools in August.

Parents will be asked to provide only the following items for students next school year:

  • Calculator
  • Headphones
  • Protractor
  • Compass

District purchased school supplies will be given to all students as they return to school in August.

In highest regard,

Del R. Phillips III Ph.D.
